Chaplain Ministry
There are six chaplains among the clergy of Estonian Methodist Church serving in prisons, Estonian Defence Forces and Estonian Defence League. Chaplains hold prayer meetings and worship services, teach confirmation classes, perform baptisms, administer Holy Communion, hold funeral services and perform consecrations, teach Bible study classes and ethics classes and enable pastoral counselling. Chaplains in Estonian Defence Forces and Estonian Defence League support families of fallen members of Defence Forces; participate in parades, anniversaries, conferences and trainings; conduct social programs for addicts; they communicate death notices to the families concerned, visit inmates who have fallen ill and distribute religious literature and symbols.
